Services
Pacific Maritime Title expertly manages every aspect of your vessel transaction. Whether it's a private party sale, brokerage purchase, refinancing, or more, our team is dedicated to making the process as smooth and seamless as possible.

US Coast Guard Documentation
The team at Pacific Maritime Title has years of experience working with the U.S. Coast Guard to procure records, verify ownership and lien status, and complete federal documentation for recreational and commercial vessels. Documentation provided by the U.S. Coast Guard, commonly referred to as a Certificate of Documentation (COD), provides the best protection of your vessel in foreign waters, best maintains the ownership history of a vessel, and provides lien recordation.
State Titling & Registration
Each state maintains unique protocols for registering and/or issuing titles for vessels. We facilitate the process by communicating with the appropriate state agencies on your behalf, providing compliance with the respective requirements to register your vessel and obtain an official state title. Our team will convey the specific state requirements to guarantee ongoing compliance for your vessel.

Lender Services
We have strong working relationships with lenders, encompassing both marine and private sectors throughout the United States. We secure a lender’s interest through various means, whether it be through a U.S. Coast Guard preferred marine mortgage, legal ownership on a state title or registration, or by filing a Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) statement with the relevant state agency.
Lienholder Reconveyance
Our team will conduct research on the current ownership to ascertain if there are any recorded lienholders associated with the vessel. Furthermore, we will draft the necessary release documents and oversee the settlement of the existing lien. This involves submitting the required reconveyance paperwork to the relevant agencies; including lenders.

Settlement Services
We provide professional assistance for gathering and disbursing sale proceeds for the transaction. This service includes overseeing the collection of the buyer funds, lender financing, recorded taxes, lien payoffs, commission payments, and seller proceeds. We promptly remit all funds to the appropriate parties and governmental agencies. We also obtain a bill of sale from the seller that insures the title and ownership for the buyer.
Understanding the Process

The process begins when a service order is submitted. A Title Agent is then assigned to a file.
Your dedicated Title Agent then begins researching the vessel with the appropriate state, federal, and if necessary international agencies.
We send a questionnaire to all parties involved to gather relevant information about everyone involved and the transaction.
After fully understanding the file, and collaborating with any brokers, lenders, and lien holders your Title Agent prepares all relevant documents to complete the sale and filings.
Once all documents are received, our team funds the transaction and sends final copies of documents.
Your Title Agent then files the documents with all relevant agencies and lenders.
Once the Certificate of Documentation, Registration, and/or title is received your Title Agent confirms its accuracy then mails your issued certificates and registrations.
We hope you enjoy cruising! Don’t forget to renew your certificates and registrations.
Expediting the Process
While some external factors may prevent a file from having an expedited closing, there are steps you can take to help speed up the process. By completing and submitting a Service Order, along with a fully completed Buyer’s Questionnaire and Seller’s Questionnaire, you can contribute to a quicker and smoother transaction. Kindly return these documents to info@pmtitle.com once completed. Please note that Pacific Maritime Title cannot facilitate every expedited closing due to varying circumstances.
