The complexity of vessel ownership between state and federal agencies can be quite cumbersome. Additionally, lien perfection, ensuring clear title, and tax assessment requires up-to-date information. The team at Pacific Maritime Title has decades of experience coordinating vessel transfers and acting as a third-party agent. We are in constant communication with government agencies to understand new changes or requirements can be taken into account for your vessel transaction.
Pacific Maritime Title is equipped to manage files for vessels entering the U.S. from foreign countries and will be registered or documented in the U.S. However, we are unable to assist with foreign vessel registrations. The process begins when a service order is submitted. A Title Agent is then assigned to a file.
Your dedicated Title Agent then begins researching the vessel with the appropriate state, federal, and if necessary international agencies.
We send a questionnaire to all parties involved to gather relevant information about everyone involved and the transaction.
After fully understanding the file, and collaborating with any brokers, lenders, and lien holders your Title Agent prepares all relevant documents to complete the sale and filings.
Once all documents are received, our team funds the transaction and sends final copies of documents.
Your Title Agent then files the documents with all relevant agencies and lenders.
Once the Certificate of Documentation, Registration, and/or title is received your Title Agent confirms its accuracy then mails your issued certificates and registrations.

A dedicated title agent will be assigned to your file and will assist you throughout the entire transaction. They will be your main point of contact for any questions or concerns. In addition, our office support staff and managers will also be available to assist with the file, providing comprehensive support at every stage of the process.
Our office has notaries available by appointment during office hours to notarize the transaction documents. Alternatively, a notary in your area may also complete the process, and the original documents would then need to be mailed via overnight mail service. In rare cases, a remote or e-notary may be acceptable, please contact our office to confirm if this option is available for your transaction.
Our office is located at 655 NE Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98105, next to Seattle Boat Company and Voula's Offshore Cafe. While there is limited street parking available in the area, we recommend arriving early to secure a spot. Alternatively, there may be other nearby parking options within walking distance.
